$15.6M to Whiting-Turner for Marine Corps Parris Island Barracks

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Co. in Raleigh, NC won a $15.6 million firm-fixed-price contract to build a new open bay barracks facility at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, SC. Whiting-Turning will provide the design and construction of the barracks and a battalion aid station, associated storage, utilities, parking, site improvements, built-in equipment requirements, access, and anti-terrorism force protection.

Whiting-Turner expects to complete the work by December 2010. This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website, with 18 proposals received by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast, in Jacksonville, FL (N69450-09-C-1766).
