$24M for HMMWV Refurbishment, Up-Armored M1114s

The Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, MI recently issued two contracts related to its High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWVs, or “Hummer”) fleet of troop transports. One contract is for a refurbishment center in Kuwait, the other adds additional up-armored HMMWVs to the force.
Small business qualifier Eagle Services Corp. in Huntsville, AL won a delivery order amount of $18 million as part of a $18 million time and materials contract for a HMMWV Refurbishment Center. Work will be performed in Kuwait, and is expected to be completed by April 28, 2008. There were six bids solicited on Jan. 12, 2005, and three bids were received (DAAE07-98-D-DT06).
O’Gara-Hess & Eisenhardt Armoring Co. in Fairfield, OH, meanwhile, was awarded a $6 million modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for M1114 Up-Armored HMMWVs. Work will be performed in Fairfield, OH and is expected to be complete by Sept. 30, 2005. This was a sole source contract initiated on April 10, 2000 (DAAE07-00-C-S019).
