The Headquarters Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH has awarded an $850 million firm-fixed-price, time and materials and cost-reimbursement contract among a number of firms. It’s a consolidated acquisition of professional services approach, using indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contracts that will cover a wide range of technical/management support at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH.

Located near the home of the Wright Brothers’ first flight, Wright-Patterson AFB may well be the largest, most diverse and organizationally complex air base in the world. Missions range from acquisition and logistics management, to research and development via the Air force Research Laboratory, education, flight operations, and many other defense related activities. Activities covered include acquisition logistics, financial management, cost estimating, schedule analysis, earned value management, contracting support, engineering, manufacturing, configuration/data management, administrative support, security management, acquisition management, test and evaluation, government furnished property management, and litigation support required in the capabilities planning/pre-acquisition, acquisition, development, production and sustainment of various equipment and weapon systems.

Task orders will identify specific services required, and the contractors will provide qualified personnel with these specialties on short notice. The Air Force can issue delivery orders totaling up to the maximum $850 million, but does not have to spend all of the money allotted.

Solicitations began May 2005, negotiations were complete in December 2005, and work will be complete April 2012. Contracts FA8622-06-D-8500 through FA8622-06-D-8509 have been awarded to:
