AECOM Government Services in Fort Worth, TX received a $20.1 million sole source, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide vehicle maintenance, night vision device maintenance, and training services to the Iraqi Security Forces (ISF) at various sites within Iraq. This is a 6-month bridge contract while a new long-term contract is being competed.

AECOM will provide the following vehicle maintenance services: training to Iraqi maintenance repair personnel, deployment of Mobile Support Teams to ISF locations to perform light and medium repairs, sustainment of the Joint Repair Parts Command (JRPC) complex at Taji, and bilingual personnel for interaction with US government representatives at vehicle maintenance locations. In addition, the company will provide training and repair capabilities for night vision devices issued to the ISF.

Iraqi Security Forces is the umbrella name for military, paramilitary, and civilian law enforcement entities that serve under the Government of Iraq.

The armed forces are administered by the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, and the Iraqi police is administered by the Ministry of Interior. Since the toppling of the Saddam Hussein regime, the Iraqi Security Forces have been rebuilt with substantial assistance from US military forces.

Since the implementation of the US-Iraq Status of Forces Agreement on Jan 1/09, the ISF is responsible for providing security and upholding law and order throughout Iraq, with some US military support until late 2011.

AECOM will perform the work in Iraq. The bridge contract will expire on May 31/10. For the contract, 1 bid was solicited by the Rock Island Contracting Center in Rock Island, IL (W52P1J-10-C-0007).
