Booz Allen Hamilton’s 1998 IATAC Contract

In May of 1998, technical and consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. of McLean, VA received a $199.6 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to establish and operate the US military’s Information Assurance Technology Analysis Center. This contract had a 3-year base period, plus a 3-year option period and a 4-year option period, for a total performance period of 10 years with completion by April 30, 2008. The Defense Supply Center Columbus solicited 9 bids, and received 2 (SPO700-98-D-4002). A number of awards have been made under this contract, but a set of awards announced on May 16/08 appear to be the final set of contracts under this arrangement…

Contracts

Booz Allen Hamilton, Inc. of Herndon, VA is the contract recipient for these Technical Area Tasks, which were issued by Offut Air Force Base in Nebraska. All contracts follow the cost-plus-fixed-fee format established in the original award.

May 16/08: $7.7 million to provide the Defense Cyber Crime Center (DC3) with information assurance to assist in combating the proliferation of computer crimes affecting the Department of Defense. At this time $74,750 has been obligated (SPO700-98-D-4002, DO 0338).

May 16/08: $9.1 million to provide the Aeronautical Systems Center with information assurance to ensure the requirements of the IA-enabled Communication Navigation Surveillance Air Traffic Management are incorporated, in order to operate aircraft in world-wide airspace. At this time $185,217 has been obligated (SPO700-98-D-4002, DO 0339).

May 16/08: $20 million to provide Assistant Secretary of Defense for Network and Information Integration with research and technical analysis of NIPRNET, SIPRNET and the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System network. At this time $285,000 has been obligated (SPO700-98-D-4002, DO 0341).

May 16/08: $30.7 million to provide the US Air Force Communication Agency with research and technical analysis to enable information superiority both on and off the battlefield and in business operations, enable secure, integrated interoperable, and scalable information sharing and increase the ability to deliver timely war fighting power through strong identity authentication. May 16/08: $20.7 million to provide the Air Mobility Command (A6) with Information Assurance technical research and analysis for collaborative technologies and cyber security. At this time $10,000 has been obligated (SPO700-98-D-4002, DO 0346).
