U.S. Navy Awards up to $1.36B for San Diego Boatyard Services, Support

The Navy’s Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) in San Diego, CA awarded a total of 15 contracts to provide boatyard services and industrial support for vessels of various sizes at Naval facilities in San Diego. The contracts are worth up to $1.36 billion.

Work will be performed in San Diego or contractor’s facility along the West Coast and is expected to be completed by June 2010. The contracts were competitively procured and advertised via the FedBizOpps website, with 20 proposals solicited and 15 offers received by SWRMC. Under Lot I, 9 indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts were awarded to companies to provide marine boatyard services and industrial support for boats, craft, lighterage or service craft less than 50 feet in length. The maximum value for each contract under Lot I is $58.3 million. Each contract has 4 additional option years to be exercised. The contracts and companies under Lot I are:

  • Adept Process Services, Imperial Beach, CA (N55236-09-D-0003);
  • Delphinus Engineering, Eddystone, PA (N55236-09-D-0005);
  • Epsilon Systems Solutions, San Diego, CA (N55236-09-D-0006);
  • Fraser’s Boiler Services, San Diego, CA (N55236-09-D-0007);
  • Integrated Marine Services, Chula Vista, CA (N55236-09-D-0008);
  • Marine Group Boat Works, Chula Vista, CA (N55236-09-D-0009);
  • Miller Marine, National City, CA (N55236-09-D-0010);
  • Nielsen Beaumont Marine, San Diego, CA (N55236-09-D-0011); and
  • South Bay Boiler Repair, National City, CA (N55236-09-D-0012).

Under Lot II, 6 indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity multiple award contracts were awarded to companies for marine boatyard services and industrial support for boats, craft, lighterage or service craft greater than 50 feet in length. The maximum value for each contract under Lot II is $139 million. Each contract has 4 additional option years to be exercised. The contracts and companies under Lot I are:

  • Al Larson Boat Shop, Terminal Island, CA (N55236-09-D-0004);
  • Epsilon Systems Solutions, San Diego, CA (N55236-09-D-0013);
  • Fraser’s Boiler Services, San Diego, CA (N55236-09-D-0014);
  • Marine Group Boat Works, Chula Vista, CA (N55236-09-D-0015);
  • Miller Marine, National City, CA (N55236-09-D-0016); and
  • South Bay Boiler Repair, National City, CA (N55236-09-D-0017).

Contract funds in the amount of $27,000 for Lot I and $18,000 for Lot II and contract funds in the amount of $3,000, for minimum obligation for each contract, will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
