SPAWAR Taps Alion for Modeling and Simulation Support

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) Atlantic awarded a $9.2 million indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to Alion Science & Technology Corp. in Chicago, IL to provide engineering and technical services support for modeling and simulation (M&S). Alion will provide program management, systems engineering, operational M&S support, strategic planning and policy support, M&S software development, M&S IT support, logistics, and training. This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring its cumulative value to an estimated $48.8 million.

Alion will perform the work in Norfolk, VA (52%) and Charleston, SC (48%), which it expects to complete by July 2010. If all options are exercised, the work could continue until July 2014. The contract (N65236-09-D-3809) was competitively procured with an unlimited number of proposals solicited and 1 offer received via the FedBizOpps web site and the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command e-Commerce web site.
