Small Businesses Get Up to $10M for U.S. Facilities Construction in TN
A number of small businesses received design-build multiple-award construction contracts for design, construction, and renovation of U.S. government facilities in Millington, TN. The total amount for all contracts combined is not to exceed $10 million (base period and 4 option years).
The 5 small businesses are SRS in Gallatin, TN (N40083-09-D-5014); Precise Concrete in Memphis, TN (N40083-09-D-5015); Chief Electric in Memphis, TN (N40083-09-D-5016); A&H Contractors in Memphis, TN (N40083-09-D-5017); and G&M Associates in Cookeville, TN (N40083-09-D-5018).
SRS received the first task order worth $1.9 million to renovate Bldg-452 at the Naval Support Activity (NAVSUPPACT) MidSouth, Millington, TN. Work for this task order is expected to be completed by April 2010.

The following U.S. Navy commands and centers are being relocated to NAVSUPPACT MidSouth as a result of BRAC, according to Globalsecurity.org:
- Enlisted Placement and Management Center
- Navy Reserve Personnel Command
- Naval Reserve Recruiting Command
- Navy Education and Training Command
- Navy Education and Training Professional Development & Technology Center
- Naval Support Activity New Orleans, LA (some units)
The relocation of the Naval Education and Training Command and Navy Education and Training Professional Development & Technology Center is expected to require 50,400 gross square feet (GSF) of military construction and utilize 102,400 GSF of existing administrative space and warehouse space at Millington, according to Globalsecurity.org.
The term of the 5 construction contracts is not to exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of August 2014 (August 2010 for the base period). The basic contracts were competitively procured via the NAVFAC e-solicitation website with 5 proposals received. These 5 contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Midwest/PWD MidSouth in Millington, TN manages the contracts.
