Sauer in Jacksonville, FL won a $7 million firm-fixed-price task order under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N62467-05-D-0181) for the expansion and renovation of facilities at Stennis Space Center, MS. Sauer will renovate and expand building 3205 and a new stand-alone buoy blast and paint facility for the National Data Buoy Center, a tenant organization of the Space Center.

The Stennis Space Center is the largest rocket engine test complex in the United States. The center provides propulsion test services for NASA and for the Department of Defense, as well as the private sector.

The task order also contains 1 unexercised option, which if exercised would increase the cumulative task order value to $9 million. The company will perform the work, which it expects to complete by January 2011, at the Stennis Space Center. For the task order, 4 proposals were received by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast in Jacksonville, FL.
