CROWS

Back on August 5/05, DID covered a $68 million contract for the CROWS system of remotely-operated machine guns that could be aimed and fired from within armored HMMWVs and M1117 Guardian ASVs. The Israelis have made use of similar systems from RAFAEL in their urban warfare platforms, and CROWS is pretty clearly headed for the front lines.

Via Murdoc Online, we’re pointed to a new blog called CROWS to the Rescue, which chronicles the efforts of a Field Service Engineer for Recon/Optical Inc. who served for 14 years in the Army and is now in Iraq as a civilian, supporting the new systems.
