Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems in Sudbury, MA received a $752 million cost-plus award-fee, firm fixed price contract to provide Taiwan with elements of a missile and air defense capability. Specifically, this system includes a Ultra High Frequency phased array radar integrated with Taiwan-furnished Identification Friend-or-Foe beacons, two Missile Warning Centers, and communications and interface architecture and protocols connecting the systems to specified Taiwan mission elements via the Taiwan military communications infrastructure.

This effort is consistent with United States government restrictions. Solicitation began December 2004, and work will be complete by September 2009. The Headquarters Electronic Systems Center at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA issued the contract (FA8722-05-C-0001).
