Accenture Extends DLA Work With $253M Contract

Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting) recently received a 5-year, $155 million contract for Enterprise Business System (EBS) integration and sustainment from the US Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). the contract contains options that could raise its total term to 10 years and its total value to $253 million. Work will be performed in in Columbus, OH; Philadelphia, PA; Richmond, VA; and Battle Creek, MI.

Accenture won the DLA Business Systems Modernization (BSM) contract in 2000 and delivered a new SAP-based system that transformed DLA’s supply chain operations. The new EBS integration and sustainment capability will build upon that base to enhance the DLA’s supply chain, attempting to modernize logistics and replace legacy IT systems while providing support for the existing application.

The Enterprise Business System (EBS) integration and sustainment contract continues DLA’s modernization efforts, works to meet DLA’s expanded responsibilities for specific procurements under the USA’s BRAC(Base Realignment And Closure) responsibilities, provides application management support for the agency’s existing SAP enterprise systems, and assists in planning DLA’s overall modernization roadmap. Early stage DBS initiatives will include upgrade of SAP to the latest software version, and implementation of a new SAP-based eProcurement system. Accenture release.

$64.7M for Housing & Amenities at NCBC Gulfport, MS

Small business qualifier Debcon, Inc. in Ashland, KY received a $64.7 million firm-fixed-price contract for the design and construction of 212 new office and enlisted housing units at the Naval Construction Battalion Center, Gulfport, MS. Work is expected to be complete by March 2010. This contract was competitively procured as a Two-Phase Design Build via the Naval Facilities Engineering Command e-solicitation website, with 2 offers received in Phase I. Both of the contractors were determined to be in the competitive range, proceeded to Phase II, and subsequently submitted proposals in Phase II. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Southeast in North Charleston, SC issued the contract (N69450-07-C-0755).

New homes shall complement and be compatible with existing housing. Site amenities will consist of a common open area with basketball court, walking/bike trail, and the expansion of an existing nature trail to link areas, tot lot/play lot with open common area and courts, picnic areas, benches. Debcon will also relocate and build a new recreation vehicle park.
