International Oil Trading Co. in Boca Raton, FL received a maximum $456.8 million fixed-price with economic price adjustment contract for aviation turbine fuel, diesel fuel, and motor gasoline. The firm has won these sorts of contracts before.
This contract includes two 12-month options. Proposals were Web-solicited and 6 responded; the date of performance completion is April 30, 2008. The Defense Energy Support Center (DESC) in Fort Belvoir, VA issued the contract (SP0600-07-D-0483).

RO Defence Projects Ltd. in Cumbria, UK received a $9 million modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for additional M777A1 ultra-lightweight 155mm howitzers. “RO” stands for “Royal Ordnance,” and is now part of BAE Land Systems. The howitzers are about to be complemented by new “Excalibur” GPS-guided shells, and new StrikeLink software for forward observers. The M777 is also in service with Britain and with the Canadian Forces, who are using it in combat in Afghanistan.
Work will be performed in Barrow, United Kingdom (27%), Hattiesburg, MS (2%), Portland, OR (14%), Lynchburg, VA (3%), Whitehall, MI (6%), and Outside the Continental US (48%), and is expected to be complete by Nov. 30, 2009. This was a sole source contract initiated on April 4, 2007 by the U.S. Army Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ (W15QKN-05-C-1173).

MPRI in Alexandria, VA received an $8.2 million firm-fixed-price contract for the M16/M4/M203 – and the AK-47 refurbishment program. You can do nearly anything to a Kalashnikov and they’ll still fire, which is exactly as its designers intended. Still, it never hurts to put them in the best condition possible. We’ve got friends on both sides of the M-16 vs. AK-47 debate… and there’s always the Wikipedia article if you feel compelled to participate.
Work will be performed in Baghdad, Iraq (60%), and Taji, Iraq (40%), and is expected to be complete by Dec. 31, 2007. This was a sole source contract initiated on April 20, 2007 by the Joint Contracting Command in Baghdad, Iraq (W91GY0-07-C-0035).
