As the season moves into high summer, more of our readers are managing to get out of town (in a non-deployed way). DID’s staff will be at our parent firm’s corporate meetings over the next few days, and will not be publishing during that time.
Publishing will resume next Tuesday, and a new newsletter will arrive in your mailboxes on Wednesday, August 15, 2007.
Envision in Wichita, KS is being awarded a fixed-price requirements type contract to provide plastic T-Shirt Bags at all U.S. commissary store locations. Commissary stores are on-base shopping centers operated around the world for the benefit of US military personnel. To get an idea of the scale involved, annual sales at those commissaries exceeds $5 billion. Even their paper bag contracts aren’t small, though they are cheaper. Envision, a National Industry for the Blind Agency, was solicited and submitted an offer for this solicitation as mandated by the procurement list. The contracting activity is the Defense Commissary Agency, Revenue, Supplies & Headquarters Support Branch (AMDR) at Fort Lee, VA 23801-1800 (HDEC05-07-D-0003).
