Rockwell Collins to Deliver DAGR GPS Receivers to US Air Force

Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, IA received a $20.2 million contract modification to provide 81,622 DAGR hand-held GPS receivers and accessories to the US Air Force GPS Wing (GPSW/PK) in El Segundo, CA.

This contract modification is part of a $450 million DAGR follow-on contract (FA8807-09-C-0002) announced March 18/09 by Rockwell Collins. The company received its first order from the USAF under the contract that same month: 53,920 DAGR receivers and accessories for $87.5 million.

The DAGR is a handheld GPS receiver that provides position, navigation and situational awareness for US troops.

Up to $51.9M to Supply Food for US Military Facilities in CA

US Foodservice/Joseph Webb Division in Vista, CA received a maximum $51.9 million firm-fixed-price, prime vendor contract for full-line food distribution to US military facilities in California. The proposal was originally Web solicited with 3 responses received by the Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) in Philadelphia, PA (SPM300-08-D-3206).

This contract is exercising the 3rd option year period. The date of performance completion is Aug 17/10. The original contract, awarded in 2005, had a $33.4 million base year with 4 one-year options, with a total potential value of $167 million. Alion to Provide Modeling and Simulation to Help Ease Spectrum Overcrowding

Alion Science and Technology in McLean, VA received a $7.8 million contract to provide spectrum modeling, simulation, analysis, certification and automation services to the US Army Spectrum Management Office.

For the modern US Army, the many voice and data communications, sensors, intelligence, and weapons systems require sufficient spectrum to operate effectively. Under the contract, Alion will provide modeling and simulation support to help the Army avoid spectrum conflicts due to environmental issues, technical difficulties, electromagnetic interference, and overcrowding resulting from too many wireless systems using the same bandwidth.

Work under this contract will contribute to the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s Wireless Network after Next (WNAN) program…
