Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio Sells Off Electrical Grid to DP&L

The Dayton Power and Light Co. (DP&L) in Dayton, OH won a maximum $175.5 million tariff contract to take over ownership, operation, and maintenance of the electric distribution system at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.

The original proposal was Web solicited and through a mailing list with 3 responses received by the Defense Energy Support Center at Fort Belvoir, VA (SP0600-09-C-8251). This contract is regulated tariff rate based for a 50-year contract period. The date of performance completion is July 10/61.

This contract is part of a broader effort to privatize Wright Patterson’s utility infrastructure. In addition to the electrical grid, the base intends to sell off its natural gas and water distribution and wastewater collection systems…

Up to $19.4M to DTC for Building Renovation at NSA Mechanicsburg

DTC Engineers & Constructors in Hamden, CT received a $16.9 million firm-fixed price task order #0002 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N40085-08-D-2108) for the renovation of Building 9 at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mechanicsburg in Pennsylvania. DTC will convert an existing warehouse into modern office space through the installation of a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system; fire suppression system; and electrical, lighting, plumbing, roofing and other incidental work.

The task order also contains 2 unexercised options, which, if exercised, would increase the cumulative task order value to $19.4 million. DTC expects to complete the work by March 2011. 3 proposals were received for this task order by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Mid-Atlantic in Norfolk, VA.

NSA Mechanicsburg has approximately 4,500 military members, civilians and contractors that support over 30 tenant activities or commands…
