AFRL Awards $300M Contract to ISS for Software Development

Intelligent Software Solutions in Colorado Springs, CO received a 5-year, $300 million software development contract from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Information Directorate in Rome, NY. At this time, $5 million has been obligated. AFRL manages the contract (FA8750-09-D-0022).

The contract encompass more than 100 software projects for 50 different user communities. These projects range from research and development for machine learning and complex event processing to the development and deployment of command and control applications and intelligence analysis tools.

In addition to software development efforts, ISS will continue its development and fielding of the Combined Information Data Network Exchange (CIDNE) used by CENTCOM to analyze campaigns in Afghanistan and Iraq…

Boeing Gets $102.3M Bridge for KC-10/KDC-10 Logistics Support Contract

Boeing Aerospace Operations in San Antonio, TX received a $102.3 million modified contract for KC-10/KDC-10 aerial tanker logistics support for the period Oct 1/09 through Jan 1/10. The modified contract is a “bridge” to a 10-year logistics support contract that is expected to be awarded at the end of September 2009, according to Boeing’s Deborah VanNierop.

Boeing secured the previous 10-year KC-10/KDC-10 logistics support contract, which expired at the end of January 2008. Boeing then received a number of contract extensions to take the company through the end of September 2009, when the new 10-year logistics support contract is expected to be awarded, noted VanNierop. The $102.3 million bridge would cover the hand over of work to a new contractor should Boeing not win the new 10-year contract, she said.

Straub to Build Human Resource Center at USMC Air Station Miramar

Straub Construction in Fallbrook, CA received a $16.7 million firm-fixed price task order #0006 under a previously awarded multiple award construction contract (N62473-08-D-8616) for the design and construction of a human resource service center (HRSC) at US Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, CA.

Straub will design and build a new multi-story consolidated administration facility that will include administrative space, legal services spaces, waiting areas, file storage, lounges, computer network room, conference and training rooms. Straub expects to complete construction by March 2011. For this task order, 6 proposals were received by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest in San Diego, CA.
