Up to $165M to BAE Systems for NAWCAD Communication Systems Support

BAE Systems Technology Solutions & Services in Rockville, MD received a $30.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for technical services and supplies for new and/or existing communication-electronic platforms, equipment, systems and subsystems for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s (NAWCAD) Special Communications Requirements Division.

The contract is for a 1-year base term with 4 option years. The total value is approximately $165 million, if all of the option years are exercised.

BAE Systems will perform design, development, systems integration, test and evaluation, maintenance, and logistics services for a range of communications and electronics platforms for the NAWCAD division…

Guyco to Renovate Barracks, Energy Plant at Fort Hood

Guyco in Lampasas, TX won a $89.2 million firm-fixed-price contract to renovate 13 VOLAR barracks and a central energy plant at Fort Hood, TX.

The VOLAR, or Volunteer Army, barracks, were built in the 1970s to accommodate the all-volunteer Army, following the end of the draft in place during the Vietnam War.

For the renovation, Guyco will perform engineering analysis, evaluation, and testing of the structures. Then, the contractor will use the findings to resolve mold growth issue, minimize vapor transmission, improve energy efficiency, and seal building envelopes to improve the living conditions for the soldiers stationed there…

$45.4M to IAP-Hill for Base Operations Support at Jacksonville Naval Facilities

IAP-Hill, a joint venture of IAP and CH2M Hill, in Cape Canaveral, FL received a $45.4 million modification to a previously awarded combination firm-fixed price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract (N62467-00-D-2451) for regional base operations support services at US Navy facilities in Jacksonville, Florida. The modification brings the total contract amount to $480.7 million.

“A Month in the Life: Oct 2006 US Base Operating Support Contracts” covers a number of task orders issued under the contract.

Under this recent contract modification, IAP-Hill will perform scheduled maintenance of base facilities, utilities, environmental, transportation, and fire alarm systems located at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport, and the surrounding region…
