TRICARE Sends $269.1M SOS for Overseas Health Care

International SOS Assistance in Trevose, PA won a fixed-price requirements contract to provide health care support services, dental care services and claims processing to the US Department of Defense TRICARE Overseas Program. The total potential contract value, including an approximately 10-month base period and 5 one-year option periods for health care delivery, plus a transition-out period, is estimated at $269.1 million.

The TRICARE Management Activity provides health care coverage to 9.4 million active duty military family members, military retirees and their eligible family members.

Seeing in the Dark: ITT Secures US Army Night Vision Goggle Orders

ITT Corp received 2 orders for night vision goggles worth a combined $91.3 million from the US Army Research, Development and Engineering Command.

Under the 1st order, an indefinite delivery/ indefinite quantity contract worth $72 million, ITT will supply its aviator night vision goggles (AN/AVS-6), night vision tubes and spare parts to Army rotary-wing pilots. Under the 2nd order, a $19.3 million delivery order under the OMNI VII night vision contract, ITT will supply AN/PVS-14 night vision monocular goggles to the US Air Force, US Navy, and US Army.

ITT’s night vision goggles use light-amplifying technology that takes a small amount of light and converts it into electrons…

KBE Ventures to Build Armed Forces Reserve Center in Middletown, CT

The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) awarded a $51.5 million firm-fixed-price contract to KBE Ventures, a Farmington, CT-based joint venture of KBE Building Corporation and Derita Construction, to build an Armed Forces Reserve Center at Cucia Park in Middletown, CT.

The contract includes construction of a 164,000-square-foot training facility with administrative, educational, assembly, library, learning center, vault, weapons simulator, and physical fitness areas for 4 Army Reserve units and 6 Connecticut Army National Guard units…
