MAR to Operate, Maintain US Navy’s M/V Independence Research Ship

MAR Inc., a Rockville, MD-based small business qualifier, received a maximum $30 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract for operation, maintenance, and repair of the US Navy’s M/V Independence research ship.

The M/V Independence is a diesel-powered vessel designed to operate as an ocean-going, world-wide research ship. The vessel’s home port is the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Port Hueneme, CA, approximately 70 miles north of Los Angeles.

Originally built for the USAF to support space shuttle operations on the West Coast, the Independence is now owned by the Naval Facilities Engineering Service Center (NFESC) and leased for oceanographic research…

NCI Gets $83.7M Order To Help With BRAC-mandated C4I/IT Move to Fort Meade

NCI gets go-ahead after protest is withdrawn. (April 7/10)

NCI in Reston, VA received a single-award task order to support the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence/Information Technology (C4I/IT) relocation effort at Ft Meade, MD. For this task order, NCI will be supporting the US Army Information Systems Engineering Command (USAISEC), Enterprise Systems Engineering Directorate.

The potential value of the task order is $83.7 million if all options are exercised. The period of performance for the base and option period is Feb 22/10 to June 30/11.

The task order was awarded under the Army’s Total Engineering and Integration Services (TEIS) contract, which has a ceiling value of $800 million. NCI’s TEIS contract number is 9128Z-06-D-0002.
