Canada Agrees $14 billion Deal For F-35 Stealth Fighter Jets | Israel Deploys Technology To Ukraine | Russia/Belarus Hold Joint Drills

The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has teamed up with California-based SentinelOne for the Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative to “further support the US government’s strategy to secure the cyber ecosystem and critical infrastructure.” As part of the partnership, the company will provide its autonomous platform to assist in data collection, analysis, and sharing of cyber threats under JCDC.
Canada announced last week plans to buy 88 F-35A Joint Strike Fighters for $14 billion. Defense Minister Anita Anand said in an online briefing the Royal Canadian Air Force would receive its first four Lockheed Martin-made F-35s in 2026, with the next six in 2027 and another six in 2028. The remainder would come in subsequent years.

Israel has begun transferring air attack alert technology to Ukraine, helping the country receive prior missile and drone attack warnings. “Work is underway on the transfer of Israeli technology related to smart alert regarding missiles and drones,” Ukrainian ambassador to Israel Yevhen Korniychuk said on Friday.
An Iranian lawmaker told Tasni News that Russia will begin delivery of the Su-35 fighters in early Solar Hijri calendar year 1402, which starts from March 21. According to the news report, Iran is expected to receive 24 of the fourth-generation twin-engine, super-maneuverable fighter jets and housed some of them at Tactical Air Base (TAB) 8 of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF), located in the Iranian city of Isfahan. The base is also home to Iran’s F-14 fighters.

Russia and Belarus began joint military exercises on Monday, sparking fears in Kyiv and the West that Moscow could use its ally to launch a fresh ground offensive in Ukraine. Russia used its neighbour Belarus as a springboard to invade Ukraine last February. The two countries will conduct air force drills from 16 January to 1 February using all Belarus military airfields and began joint army exercises involving a “mechanised brigade subdivision” on Monday, the Belarusian defence ministry said.

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) and the Indian Air Force (IAF) will conduct their first bilateral fighter jet training in Japan later this month, marking a historic milestone in the two nation’s defense and security ties amid China’s military buildup and regional assertiveness.
