Bell Boeing Joint Project Office in Amarillo, Texas, has received an $18.3 million contract change to support additional repairs and upgrades for the Marine Corps’ MV-22 Osprey aircraft. The work is part of a program to modernize and maintain the aircraft’s readiness. Repairs will be carried out in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania, and are expected to finish by July 2026. The funding includes money from both the Navy’s 2024 and 2025 aircraft procurement and operations budgets. A total of $226,800 from this year’s budget will expire if not used by the end of the fiscal year. The contract was awarded without competition by the Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland.

The United Arab Emirates said Wednesday it had foiled a weapons shipment intended for the Sudanese army, which has accused the Gulf state of backing rival paramilitaries in the country’s two-year war. The announcement comes just days before the International Court of Justice is slated to issue a ruling in a case Khartoum filed against the UAE accusing it of complicity in genocide by supporting the RSF. “The security services succeeded in preventing the transfer of a quantity of military equipment to the Sudanese Armed Forces following the arrest of members of a cell involved in unauthorized mediation, brokering and illicit trafficking of military equipment,” UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi said, according to official news agency WAM.

NATO has launched its annual anti-submarine warfare exercise, Dynamic Mongoose 25, in the North Atlantic, with operations in and around Icelandic waters. The Icelandic Coast Guard hosts the exercise and is coordinated by NATO’s Allied Maritime Command. This year’s edition involves naval and air assets from several NATO members, including Canada, Denmark, Germany, and Iceland.
