General Dynamics Land Systems won a $150 million cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-plus-incentive-fee contract for the Abrams Engineering Program. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received. Work will be performed in Sterling Heights, Michigan, with an estimated completion date of June 30, 2027. Fiscal 2025 research, development, test and evaluation, Army funds in the amount of $150,000,000 were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Detroit Arsenal, Michigan, is the contracting activity.
Lockheed Martin won a $9.9 million firm-fixed-price modification to previously awarded contract (N00024-23-C-5325) to exercise options for MK 41 Vertical Launching System module production and ancillary equipment. Work is expected to be completed by November 2029. Fiscal 2025 shipbuilding and conversion (Navy) funds in the amount of $9,935,387 will be obligated at time of award and will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, DC, is the contracting activity.

Iraq has inked a $118-million contract with Vectrus Systems to support its F-16 fighter jets. The deal, under the US Foreign Military Sales program, covers base operations, life support, and related services. An initial payment of $57.8-million was made at the contract signing, fully funded by the Iraqi government. The work, carried out at Martyr BG Ali Flaih Air Base in southern Iraq, is scheduled for completion by November 2026.

An image that surfaced online shows an M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle in Russia equipped with a Soviet-made 2A72 30-millimeter cannon, replacing its original Bushmaster M242 25-millimeter gun. The vehicle, seen in good condition, is presumed to be a Ukrainian Armed Forces platform that was captured by Russia.

Turkish company ASELSAN has reached an agreement with South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace to install the SEDA 100 Gunshot Detection System in Seoul’s upcoming armored vehicles. “This move marks a strategic milestone in ASELSAN’s long-standing commitment to defense collaboration with the Republic of Korea,” the Turkish firm stated. The SEDA 100 uses acoustic sensors to detect supersonic projectiles and pinpoint shooter locations under all conditions, day or night, and during rain or snow.
