Northrop Grumman won an $8.2 million cost-plus-fixed fee modification for engineering, logistics, and repair services for the EA-18G Airborne Electronic Attack Suite and P-8A AN/ALQ-240 systems and all variants/derivatives of these systems. Work is expected to be completed by December 2026. Fiscal 2025 operations and maintenance (Navy) funds in the amount of $605,000 (32%); Foreign Military Sales (Australia) funds in the amount of $406,207 (21%); fiscal 2025 aircraft procurement (Navy) funds in the amount of $200,000 (10%); and reimbursable funds in the amount of $700,152 (37%), will be obligated at time of award, of which $605,000 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane, Indiana, is the contracting activity.

After years of delays, the US Space Force has finally received a “next-generation” upgrade to the control segment of its Global Positioning System (GPS). Known as the Next Generation Operational Control System (OCX), the new software is meant to boost the positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) services of the space force’s GPS satellite network.

Iran confirmed fresh talks with European powers to be held on Friday in Istanbul, the country’s state media reported, the first since the United States attacked Iranian nuclear facilities a month ago. Iranian diplomats will meet counterparts from Britain, France and Germany, known as the E3, after the trio warned that sanctions could be reimposed on Tehran if it does return to the negotiating table over its nuclear program.

Russian strikes on Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Monday killed at least one person and left a shop and school on fire, according to city officials. “Unfortunately, we have information about one person who died as a result of the attack,” the head of Kyiv’s military administration Tymur Tkachenko said on Telegram. Four districts of the city were attacked, with reports of burning residential buildings, a kiosk and a kindergarten, Kyiv’s mayor Vitali Klitschko said in another Telegram post.

Cambodia will begin military conscription next year, Prime Minister Hun Manet announced, as part of an effort to fortify the country’s defenses in the context of the current border dispute with Thailand. Speaking at a ceremony at the Royal Gendarmerie Training Center in central Kampong Chhnang province, the Cambodian leader said that he had agreed in principle to activate the dormant Law on Compulsory Military Service, which was passed in 2006 but has never been enforced.
