Roshel has introduced a new counter-drone version of its Senator vehicle, pairing armored mobility with advanced aerial threat detection to stay ahead of evolving threats. The system, built entirely in Canada, is based on the company’s field-tested Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle and now comes fitted with Leonardo’s Falcon Shield, a sophisticated counter-uncrewed aerial system (C-UAS).

Able Aerospace Service won a $10,553,162 firm-fixed-price, requirements contract for UH-1N helicopter maintenance. This contract provides repair and overhaul services for the UH-1N helicopter’s main rotor hub assembly. Work will be performed in Mesa, Arizona, and is expected to be complete by May 27, 2028. This contract was a competitive acquisition, and two responsive offers were received. No funds will be obligated at the time of award as funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. The Air Force Sustainment Center, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia, is the contracting activity.

Germany will keep supplying weapons to Israel despite its intensified offensive in Gaza that has sparked international outcry, the foreign minister said on Monday, snubbing Spanish calls for an embargo. “As a country that understands Israel’s security and existence as a core principle, Germany is always obliged to assist Israel in guaranteeing its security,” Johann Wadephul told a joint press conference in Madrid alongside Spanish counterpart Jose Manuel Albares.

Europe

Saab has secured a 1.6-billion $150.4 million contract from Sweden to integrate MBDA’s Sea Ceptor air defense system into Stockholm’s five Visby-class corvettes. The initiative aims to extend the ships’ air defense capabilities to engage airborne threats at longer ranges and protect a broader area than their current systems. Work on modifying the corvettes and installing the Sea Ceptor system is scheduled to begin in early 2026.

Asia-Pacific

Japan’s Ministry of Defense is in talks with Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) over the potential acquisition of the K-RACER drone to support military logistics missions. A company spokesperson told Australian Defence Magazine that interest from the military followed a successful 2024 demonstration in which the drone autonomously loaded and unloaded cargo.

A South Korean Navy P-3 maritime patrol aircraft crashed in a mountainous area near Pohang on May 29, with four crew members aboard the aircraft at the time of the incident. The aircraft went down at approximately 1:52 p.m. local time in a field in Sinjeong-ri, Donghae-myeon, Nam-gu, Pohang City, according to Navy officials. The P-3C had taken off from Pohang Air Base at 1:43 p.m. for a training mission when the crash occurred.
