DigiFlight Inc. won a $9.4 million modification for Apache Attack Helicopter Project Office logistics support services. Work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama, with an estimated completion date of Oct. 31, 2025. Fiscal 2025 other procurement, Army; and Foreign Military Sales funds, in the amount of $9,493,651, were obligated at the time of the award. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is the contracting activity.
US state-owned research and development center Sandia National Laboratories has produced a high-security vault supporting rapid transport of nuclear weapons between temporary and remote sites. The capability, integrated into a standard 20-foot (17-meter) shipping container, was built in six months in response to a request from the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Stockpile Responsiveness Program.

Turkish electronics giant Aselsan made a splash at the International Defense Industry Fair, unveiling a number of land and naval systems, part of what the firm’s CEO said was a dual push into providing for domestic needs like the air defense project Steel Dome as well as eyeing aggressive exports. As for Steel Dome, Aselsan has made “huge investments, and we will have more following years, and also there are many alliance countries, including NATO, European countries, Gulf region, Asia, they have huge demands [and] we are trying to meet their requirements, and we are trying to deliver systems to allies also,” Aselsan CEO Ahmet Akyol told Breaking Defense in an interview on the sidelines of the show. “So not for only Turkey, but for also our allies. This will be useful. The main idea is to have a deterrence and prevent wars and conflicts.”
Europe
The British Army has tested a counter-drone system based on a swarm of networked interceptor and sensor drones. Named the Sentinel, the system was trialed as part of Project Vanaheim, an initiative to identify and deploy new counter-drone capabilities rapidly. German startup Alpine Eagle developed the system to overcome the challenges faced by ground-based counter-drone systems in detecting targets that fly behind hills and trees.
Asia-Pacific
Pakistan has begun accepting Z-10ME attack helicopters from China as part of Islamabad’s tactical rotary-wing fleet modernization effort. The deliveries have not been officially confirmed by either country but have been verified through multiple sources, including images and videos showing the Chinese-made aircraft bearing Pakistan Army insignia.
