Poland has made history by becoming the first international customer to add the advanced 360-degree Lower-Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensors (LTAMDS) radar to its air and missile defense capabilities. The announcement comes after the Polish Minister of National Defense, Mariusz B?aszczak, approved a Letter of Acceptance with the U.S. Army to bolster the country’s air defense systems. This move supports Poland’s ongoing WIS?A Phase 2 program, which is an expansion of its air and missile defense capabilities. The program builds on the success of the first phase, which saw the delivery and testing of four Patriot fire units. Raytheon, an RTX business, played a crucial role in the first phase, delivering the last two fire units to Poland earlier this year. These systems are now in the System Integration and Check-Out (SICO) phase, set to conclude in October.
Elbit Systems has secured two contracts worth $200 million to provide a European country with Command, Control, Communication, Computer, and Intelligence (C4I) solutions. The C4Is will be integrated with the customer’s artillery battalions and a Hostile Fire Counterattack (HFCA) platform once delivered. Work for the contracts will run until 2026 and include additional options for extensions.
