Sikorsky Aircraft won a $14.3 million modification, which increases the contract ceiling to provide continued integrated logistics support, sustaining engineering, spares support, material management, component overhaul, and training activities in support of sustaining the VH-92A Patriot in-service helicopter for the Navy. Work is expected to be completed in September 2027. No funds will be obligated at the time of award; funds will be obligated on individual orders as they are issued. The contract that is being modified was not competed. Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity.

Brazilian aerospace firm Embraer has delivered four A-29 Super Tucano light attack aircraft to the Paraguayan Air Force under a contract signed in 2024. Asunción received the planes during a ceremony at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport in Luque. The event was attended by senior government officials, representatives from national defense agencies, and military authorities.

Iran officially suspended its cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog on Wednesday, a move the United States described as “unacceptable.” It came after last month’s 12-day conflict between Iran and Israel, which saw unprecedented Israeli and US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and sharply escalated tensions between Tehran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Ukraine’s standard infantry rifles are getting an upgrade with a newly-unveiled 5.56mm ammunition designed to take down unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) threats. The new 5.56mm rounds, the most common caliber used by Ukrainian infantry units, will be fitted with a custom warhead that bursts upon firing, spraying fragments into multiple directions instead of punching straight through like normal bullets.

Asia-Pacific

The UK’s Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) agency has sold three refurbished Landing Craft Air Cushion (Light) hovercraft to the Pakistan Navy. Previously operated by the Royal Marines, the hovercraft were decommissioned in 2021 and later refurbished in 2022 by UK-based Griffon Marine Support under a contract managed by DE&S Boats.
