US Army Received Latest AH-64E| UAE Sent Military Vehicles To Chad | Poland Purchases SPIKE Missiles

The US Army’s Fort Cavazos Flight Simulation Division has received its latest AH-64E Guardian multirole combat helicopter simulator, enabling simultaneous training for the service’s aviators. The division at Yoakum-Defrenn Army Heliport in Texas offers realistic flight training with platforms modeled on army helicopters such as the CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk.
General Dynamics won a $9.5 million modification for the USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77) fiscal 2023 continuous maintenance availability. Work will take place in Virginia. Expected completion date will be in December 2023. The USS George HW Bush aircraft carrier, CVN 77, is the tenth and final ship of the Nimitz Class nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. The CVN 77 programme was authorised in 1999 and Northrop Grumman Newport News was awarded the prime contract for construction of CVN 77 in January 2001.
Middle East and Africa
The UAE has sent a shipment of military vehicles and security equipment to the Republic of Chad, to support its capabilities in combatting terrorism and enhancing border protection. This initiative falls within the framework of the strong ties between the UAE and Chad at various levels, which have resulted in the signing of several bilateral agreements, including a military cooperation agreement in June during the official visit of Mahamat Idriss Deby, Chairman of Chad’s Transitional Military Council, to Abu Dhabi.

Polish Minister of National Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak, announced that his country is purchasing several hundreds of Spike LR anti-tank guided missiles for the Polish Army. The Polish Armament Agency added in a release that the deliveries will be made in the years 2023-2026, and the contract is worth about $100 million. On the agenda is another contract for the purchase of additional launchers for LR/LR2 spike missiles. The Spike-LR missiles and launchers are locally manufactured under a license from the Israeli company Rafael by Mesko in Poland.
Asia-Pacific
The Australian Army has acquired an advanced virtual reality (VR) tactical training system from American tech firm Operator XR. Called the OP-1, the cutting-edge tech allows soldiers to conduct or participate in virtual missions using their own specific service weapons and equipment. Instead of external computers, simulations are run from a high-powered tablet for improved mobility and ease of use.
The US Navy has approved the service life extension of four Arleigh Burke-class (DDG 51) guided-missile destroyers in service since the 1990s. Vessels in the program include the Virginia-based USS Mitscher (DDG 57) and Ramage (DDG 61), as well as the USS Benfold (DDG 65) and Milius (DDG 69) currently stationed in Yokosuka, Japan.
