Infinity Fabrication won a $10 million firm-fixed-price, indefinite-quantity contract for B-52 aircraft engine hanger beams. This was a competitive acquisition with two responses received. This is a five-year contract with no option periods. The performance completion date is July 17, 2030. Using military service is Air Force. Type of appropriation is fiscal 2025 through 2030 defense working capital funds. The contracting activity is the Defense Logistics Agency Aviation, Richmond, Virginia.
The US Air Force’s engine prototype for the Next Generation Adaptive Propulsion (NGAP) program has been delayed by more than two years and now will not be completed before the end of the decade. NGAP aims to build dynamic engine solutions to power the US military’s next-generation fighter planes, including the Trump administration’s recently announced F-47 aircraft. The work is intended to be finalized by late fiscal 2027, but new budget documents reveal it is now delayed to mid-fiscal 2030, resulting in a postponement of more than two years, according to a Breaking Defense report.

The Israeli military on Sunday issued an evacuation order for Palestinians in the central Gaza Strip, warning of imminent action against Hamas militants in an area “where it has not operated before.” The military’s Arabic-language spokesman Avichay Adraee said in a post on X that residents and displaced Palestinians sheltering in the Deir el-Balah area should evacuate immediately.
Europe
Germany and the United Kingdom have inked their first bilateral defense pact since World War II, promising to come to each other’s aid in the case either is attacked and deepening defense integration. On the sidelines of the signing, the leaders also teased a new phase in the provision of long-range weapons to Ukraine. Shortly thereafter, Russia’s foreign ministry renewed warnings that such a move may be met with military strikes against European countries.

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) and the United States Pacific Air Force (PACAF) held the second part of this year’s Cope Thunder exercise from July 7 to July 18 at Clark Air Base in Pampanga. Lt. Gen. Arthur Cordura, the PAF commanding general, and Lt. Col. Bryan Mussler, the commander of the 421st Fighter Squadron, PACAF, led the opening ceremony.
