Balfour Beatty Construction in Fairfax, VA won a $37.6 million firm-fixed-price contract for the design and construction of 2 schools in the northern training area at Fort Bragg, NC. The contractor expects to complete the construction by Mar 15/11. Proposals were solicited on the Web with 16 proposals received by the U.S. Army Engineer District in Savannah, GA (W912HN-09-C-0033).
Balfour Beatty will build a 550 student middle school to serve 6th through 8th grade students (approximately 99,300 sq. ft.) and a 714 student elementary school to serve pre-kindergarten through 5th grade students (approximately 123,616 sq. ft.). The project includes utilities, parking, playground areas, sports facilities, fencing, and landscaping and site development.
