Israeli Protection Suites for South Korea’s CN-235 Transports

The 70/30 Elbit/IAI joint venture Elisra Electronic Systems Ltd. recently announced a $29 million contract to supply the Korean Government’s CN-235 transporters with Airborne Electronic Warfare (EW) Suites and Missile Warning Systems (MWS) for its ROKAF CN-235 transports.

The ROKAF has ordered a total of 24 CN-235s, which are the product of a partnership between Spain and Indonesia. The transport fleet includes 12 CN-235-100 transports from EADS-CASA in Spain, and 6 CN-235-220 transports from Indonesia’s Digiranta. The ROK also flies 2 CN-235-220 VIP aircraft, and 4 CN-235-110 maritime patrol planes for its Coast Guard, from Digiranta.
