Up to $200M to 6 Small Businesses for NAVFAC Northwest Construction

The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Northwest awarded indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity multiple award design-build construction contracts to 6 small business qualifiers for US military construction projects in the Northwest United States. The maximum dollar value, including the base period and 4 option years, for all 6 contracts is $200 million.

The contractors will carry out new construction, renovation, alteration, demolition, and repair work through design-build or design-bid-build projects. The work will be performed at a broad range of sites, including commercial and institutional facilities, administrative and industrial facilities, housing facilities, child care centers, lodges, recreational/fitness centers, retail complexes, warehouses, offices, community centers, medical facilities, operational airfield facilities, hangars, armories, fire stations, auditoriums, religious facilities and manufacturing facilities.

The winners of the NAVFAC Northwest contracts are:

  • Advanced Technology Construction Corp. in Renton, WA (N44255-10-D-5003);
  • LCC-CJW Joint Venture in Homedale, ID (N44255-10-D-5004);
  • San Juan Construction in Montrose, CO (N44255-10-D-5005);
  • Vet Industrial in Bremerton, WA (N44255-10-D-5006);
  • Veterans Northwest Construction in Seattle, WA (N44255-10-D-5007); and
  • Washington Patriot Construction in Gig Harbor, WA (N44255-10-D-5008).

These 6 contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. At this time, Veterans Northwest Construction is being awarded a $9.2 million task order for the design and construction of a new child development center at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, WA. Work for this task order is expected to be completed by June 2011.

All work on these contract will be performed primarily within the NAVFAC Northwest area of responsibility, which includes Washington (92%), Oregon (2%), Alaska (2%), Idaho (1%), Montana (1%), and Wyoming (1%). Work may also be performed in the remainder of the US (1%).

The term of the contracts will not exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of November 2014. These contracts were competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website, with 15 proposals received by NAVFAC Northwest in Silverdale, WA.
