HH-60L Medevac

United Technologies subsidiary Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. in Stratford, CT received a $17.7 modification to a firm-fixed-price contract for conversion of four UH-60L Blackhawk Helicopters to HH-60L Medevac configuration. The HH-60L provides uprated cockpits, as well as a clinical cabin that allows for immediate treatment of multiple trauma patients during medevac operations. Aviation Today has a useful article about this aircraft’s performance in Afghanistan with the 126th Medical Co. (Air Ambulance) of the California Army National Guard.

Work will be performed in Stratford, CT and is expected to be complete by Dec. 31, 2007. This was a sole source contract initiated on Oct. 4, 2000. The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal, AL issued the contract modification (DAAH23-02-C-0006).
