$48M of Construction at Fort Richardson, AK

Fort Richardson, Alaska is the scene of some construction these days. Local small business qualifier Alutiiq Manufacturing Contractors in Anchorage, AK received a $12 million modification to their sole-source firm-fixed-price contract for temporary facilities infrastructure for the airborne brigade. Work is expected to be complete by Nov. 30, 2005, and the U.S. Army Engineer District of Elmendorf, AK issued the contract (W911KB-05-C-0009). Meanwhile, Watterson Construction Co. in Anchorage, AK won a $36 million firm-fixed-price contract for construction of replacement housing on the base, which is expected to be complete by April 30, 2007. There were five bids solicited on Jan. 25, 2005, and five bids were received. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Seattle, WA issued this contract (W912DW-05-C-0007).
