$90M Food Service Contracts for US Navy (Update)

The Defense Supply Center in Philadelphia, PA recently issued a pair of food service contracts for the U.S. Navy with a combined value of $90 million.
Sysco of Hampton Roads in Suffolk, VA received a $50 million firm-fixed-price indefinite-quantity contract (SPM300-05-D-3001) for full line food distribution for U.S. Navy Ships at Norfolk Naval Station. Proposals were solicited via the web, with three responses. In choosing Sysco of Hampton Roads the Navy is exercising its fourth year option, extending the contract to March 16, 2006.
As Defense Industry Daily noted last Friday, US Food Service of LaMirada, CA won a maximum $40 million firm-fixed-price one-year contract (SPM300-05-D-3051) for full line food service to the U.S. Navy. Proposals were submitted on the web, with 25 solicited and four responses. In choosing US Food Service, the Navy is exercising its second year option.
