$90M in Construction Contracts for NC Naval & Marine Facilities
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Atlantic, Norfolk, VA has issued six firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity, multiple-award construction contracts (contract numbers N62470-05-D-6830/6831/6832/6833/6834/6835) for general construction projects at naval and USMC facilities in North Carolina. The total amount per contract is not to exceed $15 million (base year and four option years) with a guaranteed minimum of $5,000 each, bringing the cumulative total for all six contracts to $90 million. All contracts went to small businesses as defined by Pentagon procurement standards.
Diversified Mechanical Limited of Durham, NC won an initial task order of $122,245 (including the minimum guarantee) for general construction, heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system and ductwork, plumbing and electrical services, and incidental related work at Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, NC. Work for this task order is expected to be complete by January 2006.
Other contract recipients include Diversified Mechanical Limited in Durham, NC; Tesoro Corp. in Virginia Beach, VA.; Z-CORP in Norfolk, VA; Military & Federal Construction Co. Inc. in Jacksonville, NC; Grahams Construction Inc. in Delco, NC; and Global Construction Inc. in Kinston, NC. These six contractors may compete for task orders under the terms and conditions of the awarded contract. Work will be performed within the Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC (50%), the Marine Corps Air Station, New River, Jacksonville, NC (45%), and other military installations/sites in North Carolina (5%). The term of the entire contract is not to exceed 60 months, with an expected completion date of April 2006 (April 2010 with options).
