DynCorp International LLC in Fort Worth, TX received a delivery order amount of $9.1 million for refurbishment of UH-1H Huey helicopters as part of a $406 million firm-fixed-price contract. As DID has noted, Dyncorp is partnered with MDHI to provide global contractor support for the UH-902 Explorer NOTAR helicopter in the US Army’s $2 billion Light Utility Helicopter competition. The LUH is expected to replace the UH-1 Hueys in the US Army’s inventory.
The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command in Redstone Arsenal, AL issued the contract (W58RGZ-04-D-0034), but the last announced DefenseLINK contract under this number was a March 1, 2004 delivery order of $860,971 for commercial support services under the Foreign Military Sales Fair Share Sustainment Program. Work on this UH-1 related delivery order will be performed in Panama City, FL and is expected to be complete by Feb. 27, 2009. Bids were solicited via the World Wide Web on Sept. 3, 2003, and three bids were received.
