Moog Military Aircraft won a $13 million contract for B-2 flight control actuators. This deal provides for the remanufacturing of the B-2 flight control actuators. The B-2 Spirit, also known as the Stealth Bomber, is a US military aircraft designed for long-range strategic missions. It’s a revolutionary bomber with several key characteristics:Work will be performed at Elma, New York, and is expected to be completed by November 27, 2027. The Air Force Sustainment Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, is the contracting activity.

Kay and Associates, a company from Illinois, has been awarded $79.3 million to continue their work in Kuwait. They will keep helping with the maintenance and support of Kuwait’s F/A-18 fighter jets and missile repair facilities. This new deal adds $79,368,571 to their existing contract. The work will be done in Kuwait and should be finished by January 2026. The money for this comes from Foreign Military Sales funds. The US Navy’s aircraft division in Maryland is managing this contract.

Middle East & Africa

Dassault Aviation, a French company, has shown off the first new F4 Rafale fighter jet for the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This is a big step in a deal the two countries made in 20211.The UAE is buying these new planes to work alongside their older Mirage 2000 jets and the F-35s they plan to get from the United States.In December 2021, the UAE agreed to buy 80 of these Rafale planes from France for about $14.6 billion.

Europe

Finland is going to build a new TNT factory, which will cost about 200 million euros and will be built in Pori. The Finnish government states the new factory will help with the explosives shortage in Europe, which causes problems with ammunition production. The Defense Minister of Finland, Antti Hakkanen, says this project is very important for making more ammunition in Europe. He also says it will help Finland keep supporting Ukraine for a long time. The company that will build and run the factory is called Forcit. The government has already agreed to buy TNT from the new factory.

Asia-Pacific

The US State Department has recently approved a significant arms sale to Japan, consisting of 150 SM-6 Block I missiles worth $900 million. This sale is part of Japan’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) capabilities in the Pacific region.The SM-6, or Standard Missile-6, is a versatile weapon system with multiple capabilities:

  1. Anti-air warfare
  2. Terminal ballistic missile defense
  3. Anti-ship strike

Japan plans to deploy these missiles on its existing and future warships equipped with the Aegis Weapon System (AWS). This deployment will enhance Japan’s ability to protect itself and allied forces in the region, as well as contribute to the integrated air missile defense in the Indo-Pacific.
