Americas

Hamilton Sundstrand won a $135 million deal for C-130 production. The total estimated value of all the options is $573,028,284. The maximum ceiling value of the contract is $708,031,469. This contract provides for manufacturing and engineering support of the NP2000 eight-blade propeller, electronic propeller control system and procurement of initial spares under C-130 for the Air Force. Work will be performed in Windsor Locks, Connecticut, and is expected to be completed by January 19, 2028. This contract was a sole source acquisition.

The US Navy has awarded Curtiss-Wright an $8.7-million contract to support the service’s identification friend or foe (IFF) capabilities. IFF technology is a recognition system that uses frequencies to ‘interrogate’ and identify multi-domain vehicles. It was first developed to prevent friendly fire incidents during World War II. As part of the agreement, the firm will deliver a single board computer (SBC) for the navy’s AN/UPX-24(V) IFF processor sets in St. Inigoes, Maryland.

Middle East & Africa

Vectrus Colorado Springs won a $9.5 million deal for dining facility food services. Work will take place in Kuwait City in Kuwait. The US Army is the contracting activity. Estimated completion date ist June 30, 2023. Army funds in the fuel amount were obligated at the time of the award.

Europe

Estonia and Latvia are taking a step forward in their defense capabilities by jointly procuring medium-range air defense systems. This move highlights the importance these neighboring countries place on ensuring their security and the effectiveness of their air defense. The procurement process will be based purely on the price and capabilities of the systems, which will be determined by the most economically advantageous and technically capable system in the market.

Cyprus state broadcaster CyBC and German news magazine Der Spiegel have reported that Germany has approved the sale of the H145M light attack helicopter to Cyprus. The helicopters, manufactured by Airbus, will be delivered by the end of spring or late summer, with the second batch arriving next year. It was reported earlier that Cyprus intends to replace its Mi-35 attack helicopters from Russia with the H145M. Cyprus also had the intention of transferring the Mi-35s to Serbia.

Asia-Pacific

A Raytheon subsidiary subsidiary will deliver air-to-ground munitions kits and related equipment to the government of Singapore under a potential $55 million foreign military sales agreement approved by the US Department of State. Raytheon Missile and Defense will serve as the principal contractor on the proposed deal that includes the provision of joint direct attack munition tail kits and munitions, laser guidance sets, spare parts and support equipment, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Thursday.
