Hamilton Sundstrand Wins $250M Spares Contract for USAF Fleet

Hamilton Sundstrand Corp. of Windsor Locks, CT (a United Technologies company) won a $250.4M sole source contract to supply a number of spares and services for various power and control subsystems across the USAF fleet. This fixed price with estimated quantities, firm fixed price and cost reimbursable contract will cover annual demand quantities for each of the items named. Approximately 5400 items will be incorporated into the contract, and weapon systems, spares and services support will include systems on the A-10, B-1, B-52, C-130, C-141, C-5, E-3, F-15, F-16, KC-135, T-38, et. al. Engineering and Technical services for technical data support of the items will be authorized on an as required basis, and will account for less than 1% of the estimated contract value.
Solicitation for this Strategic Sourcing Initiative began August 2003, and negotiations were completed in February 2005. Most work will be done at Hamilton Sundstrand’s Rockford, IL and San Diego, CA locations. The Headquarters Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill Air Force Base, UT issued the contract (FA8208-04-D-0002).
