Hand Over $1.42B and Open Wide

United Concordia Companies Inc. (UCCI), Harrisburg, PA is being awarded a $1.42 billion fixed-price premium-based contract for the TRICARE Dental Program. UCCI is required to furnish worldwide, comprehensive dental coverage to include preventive, diagnostic, restorative and maintenance services to all eligible Uniformed Services active duty family members, members of the Selected Reserve and Individual Ready Reserve and their eligible family members. This fixed-price premium-based contract provides for an approximate 10-month base period for transition, and 5 one-year option periods for dental services. The base period is from April 6, 2005 through January 31, 2006. Dental services will begin February 1, 2006, and will end January 31, 2011, if all options are exercised. Proposals were solicited via the Web site and competitively procured with 3 offers received. The TRICARE Management Activity in Aurora, CO issued the contract (H94002-05-D-0001).
