The US State Department has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Kuwait of Maintenance Repair Sustainment Capability and related equipment for an estimated cost of $300 million. The Defense Security Cooperation Agency delivered the required certification notifying Congress of this possible sale. The Government of Kuwait has requested to buy equipment and services required to refurbish existing maintenance facilities in Kuwait, including sustainment maintenance; special tools; repair parts; common tools; shop equipment and fixtures; materiel handling equipment; two-years of initial repair parts; bench stock; mandatory replacement materials; capability to repair small/medium arms of up to 100 mm; cables; wiring harnesses (including wiring harness manufacturing); hydraulics; fuel oil pumps; starters; generators.

The US State Department has authorized a $266 million military package for Ukraine, aimed at supporting the services and repairs required to maintain the country’s fleet of F-16 fighter jets. The announcement came on Tuesday from the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA), a branch of the Defense Department focused on weapons transfers and related support to allied nations. In its release, the DSCA said the State Department had approved the quarter-billion-dollar support package and Congress had been notified of the proposed sale, which when finalized will comprise “sustainment services and related equipment” for Kyiv’s fighter jets. These include the Joint Mission Planning System, a software-based tool used by the Defense Department to coordinate missions for military aircraft and other assets, as well as maintenance services, personnel training and spare parts.

Asia-Pacific

Boeing won a $450.5 million undefinitized contract action for the F-15 Japan Super Interceptor Program requirement to incorporate C2 production Lot One. This contract provides for the acquisition of radars, self-protection systems, and mission computer units. Work will be performed in St. Louis, Missouri, and is expected to be completed by February 2030. This contract involves Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Japan. This contract was a sole source acquisition. FMS funds in the amount of $110,796,438 are being obligated at the time of award. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, is the contracting activity.
