Americas Lockheed Martin won a $97 million contract procures aircraft armament equipment such as internal adapters and weapon umbilical cables required to employ long-range strike weapons, which allows for internal carriage and employment of the Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile – Extended Range weapon for F-35 Lightning II aircraft for the Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy, Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers, and non-US Department of Defense (DOD) program participants. Work will be performed in Fort Worth, Texas, and is expected to be completed in February 2028. Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting activity. BAE Systems has secured a $95 million contract from the U.S. Navy to develop and produce electronic warfare (EW) pods for the P-8A Poseidon Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft. These pods will provide critical defensive capabilities for the Poseidon, enhancing its survivability in contested environments. The new EW pods are designed to detect and counter a variety of threats, including air-to-air and surface-to-air missiles. Middle East & Africa

Milkor showcased a model of the largest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built in Africa, as well as a model of Milkor’s 4×4 armoured vehicle. The military equipment were displayed at the Africa Airforce Forum which took place in Abuja, Nigeria at the end of May. The Milkor 380 is a multi-functional airborne platform that can be used for surveillance, reconnaissance and opportunistic engagement operations. With a wide variety of payload options, the 380 acts as a guardian in the sky and can conduct extended-range and long-endurance missions.

Europe

The Royal Danish Air Force has received the green light from Washington to acquire 84 AIM-120C-8 advanced medium-range air-to-air missiles along with three AIM-120 AMRAAM homing sections. This was confirmed by the US State Department, as detailed on the Defense Security Cooperation Agency website on June 7. The deal is valued at $215.5 million. Beyond production and delivery, Washington is also offering programmatic support for the munitions. The total amount includes the delivery of spare AMRAAM control sections, containers, and auxiliary equipment, along with maintenance, support equipment, spare parts, supplies, accessories, and repair and return support.

Asia-Pacific

Thales has inked a joint venture deal with Jakartan firm PT Len Industri to address the air surveillance requirements of the Indonesian Air Force. The two companies will be launching a Centre of Excellence to develop radars and command and control systems, eventually helping the venture launch a national Air Operations Centre. The partnership is also expected to eventually delve into other military capabilities, including C4ISR, military satellites, electronic warfare, national data links, and national combat management systems.
