Americas Northrup Grumman won a $30.7 million modification, which exercises options to procure continued manufacturing and installation efforts necessary to retrofit the aerial refueling capability on 25 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye fleet aircraft for the Navy. Work is expected to be completed in August 2025. The United States announced Friday, November 1 the deployment of additional military assets to the Middle East, including ballistic missile defense destroyers and long-range B-52 bomber aircraft, serving as a warning to Iran as it and Israel trade tit-for-tat strikes. “Should Iran, its partners, or its proxies use this moment to target American personnel or interests in the region, the United States will take every measure necessary to defend our people,” Pentagon spokesman Major General Pat Ryder said in a statement.

Europe

The United States announced Friday that it will provide an additional $425 million in military aid to Ukraine, a day after Washington said thousands of North Korean troops were ready to enter combat against Kyiv’s forces. The assistance “will provide Ukraine additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs, including: air defense interceptors; munitions for rocket systems and artillery; armored vehicles; and anti-tank weapons,” the Defense Department said in a statement.

Asia-Pacific

According to Defense News, Turkish armored-vehicle manufacturer FNSS has unveiled an armored personnel carrier in cooperation with Pindad Indonesia, continuing a teaming arrangement that previously saw the two vendors make mid-size tanks for the Southeast Asian country. Company executives unveiled the conceptual design for the envisioned troop transporter, dubbed “Kaplan,” at the Saha Expo arms fair here in late October.
