Boeing won a $30.4 million modification, which exercises an option to procure eight P-8A aircraft mechanisms as ancillary equipment in support of P-8A production aircraft. Work will take place in Washington. Estimated completion will be in January 2026.
The US Office of Naval Research (ONR) has contracted Textron to develop a non-towed mine sweeping payload technology. Magnetic and Acoustic Generation Next Unmanned Superconducting Sweep (MAGNUSS) technology will be one of the US Navy’s Mine Countermeasure Unmanned Surface Vehicle’s (MCM USV) multiple payloads.

Elbit Systems reported its consolidated results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2022. Revenues for the year ended December 31, 2022 were $5,511.5 million, as compared to $5,278.5 million in the year ended December 31, 2021. Revenues in the fourth quarter of 2022 were $1,506.4 million, as compared to $1,494.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2021. The majority of the revenues in 2022 were in the Airborne systems and C4ISR systems areas of operation. The growth in revenues in the C4ISR systems area was mainly due to increased sales of UAS systems to customers in Europe, and higher sales of Sparton’s products in the US.

French newspaper Le Figaro reported last week that a group of about thirty Ukrainian pilots have been undergoing secret flight training at Mont-de-Marsan and Nancy air bases since Feburary to fly the Mirage 2000 fighter. The green light to proceed with the training was given on the eve of Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Paris in February.

An Australian Army Taipan helicopter made a dramatic emergency landing into the sea at Jervis Bay on Wednesday night during a counterterrorism exercise. All ten personnel on board, including special forces soldiers, escaped with no serious injuries. Eyewitnesses reported seeing sparks at the top of the rotor blades and an explosion before the Airbus-manufactured helicopter came down just after 9 pm. The incident has prompted a renewed focus on Australia’s troubled history with its European designed MRH-90 fleet.
Singapore’s Defense Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and Thales have signed a “master agreement” to enhance the capabilities of the company’s Defense Hub for the Singapore Armed Forces. Recently launched in Ayer Rajah Crescent, the facility will provide local developments, digital technologies, and long-term lifecycle maintenance services for the Singaporean military.
