Americas Argon ST Inc. won a $24 million delivery order for the procurement of 11 communication equipment interface units in support of the MQ-4C Triton used in the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Support (WSS) Integrated Weapon Support Team’s program. All work will be performed in Fairfax, Virginia, and is expected to be completed by May 2026. Working capital (Navy) funds in the amount of $18,071,527 will be obligated at the time of award, and funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. Europe

The US Army Garrison Bavaria has conducted a ground-breaking ceremony to start the construction of a military canine complex in Grafenwöhr, Germany. The $4.6-million project aims to establish a permanent, standard-design working dog center to replace the current military kennel built over 100 years ago, the service wrote. “This kennel is long overdue,” US Army Garrison Bavaria Commander Col. Kevin Poole stated.

Asia-Pacific

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) has deployed six F-35A Lightning II fighters to Sulawesi, Indonesia, as part of Exercise Elang AUSINDO 2023. For the first time in Indonesia, the F-35As will be used to build mutual cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces. More than 150 RAAF personnel and 160 of their Indonesian counterparts are participating in the training, where the Indonesian Air Force is also set to deploy F-16s.

South Korea staged its first military parade in a decade, showcasing its advanced arsenal in the face of plummeting ties with nuclear-armed North Korea. Pyongyang regularly puts on huge military parades but such events in Seoul are traditionally only arranged every five years to mark South Korea’s Armed Forces Day. The last parade was in 2013. Five years later, then-president Moon Jae-in chose to hold a celebratory ceremony instead of a military event, in line with his conciliatory approach to North Korea.
