The U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command, Warren, MI recently issued a pair of modifications to firm-fixed-price contracts for M1117 “Guardian” Armored Security Vehicles and M1114 Up-Armored Humvee Chasis. Both of these “up-armored” vehicle options are in sustained demand in the Iraqi theater.
Textron Marine & Land Systems in New Orleans, LA received an $86.9 million modification to a contract for M1117 Guardian Armored Security Vehicle. AM General L.L.C. in South Bend, IN received a $19 million modification to a contract for M1114 Chassis for the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles. The M1114 is the up-armored version.
