Harper Construction Company Inc. in San Diego, CA received an $11.6 million firm-fixed-price contract for construction of the primary infrastructure to support the new utility requirements, repair and overlay of roads, and construction of new water distribution mains, sewer mains, gas distribution mains, and electrical/communication ductbanks at Fort Sill, OK. Work is expected to be completed by March 31, 2009. Bids were solicited via the World Wide Web on Dec. 20, 2006, and 3 bids were received by the U.S. Army Engineer District in Tulsa, OK (W912BV-07-C-2005).
Under US BRAC(Base Realignment & Closure) 2005 recommendations, Fort Sill is receiving the US Army’s Air Defense Artillery (ADA) Center & School, which will be merged with Sill’s existing Field Artillery Center & School to establish a Net Fires Center. The 95th DIV (IT) will also relocate to Fort Sill from the Major General Harry Twaddle United States Armed Forces Reserve Center, Oklahoma City, OK.
