$296M for More FMTV Family Trucks

FMTV after up-armoring(click to view full) Stewart & Stevenson Tactical Vehicle Systems L.P. in Sealy, TX received a $296 million modification to a firm-fixed-price and cost-reimbursement contract for family of medium tactical trucks and trailers. This 14-vehicle family will form the core of the US Army’s future truck fleet and serve a platform for some future weapons systems. Work will be performed in Sealy, TX and is expected to be complete by Nov. 15, 2008. There were two bids solicited on Aug. 15, 2003, and two bids were received by the Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, MI (DAAE07-03-C-S023).
